Description
Define, validate, calibrate, and optimize Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Electric Drive Unit (DU) and inverter to ensure feature and temperature, current, voltage, and motor position sensors diagnostic functionality and robustness. Analyze large sets of data collected during BEV driving maneuvers in simulation, dynamometer, and in vehicle, tune the system response through calibration and identify areas requiring a change in controls utilizing Calibration Standard Work. Calibrate, test, verify vehicle performance, and validate Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) propulsion systems in-vehicle and on test bench using dSPACE Hardware in the Loop (HIL) and Software in the Loop (SIL), using Co-Simulation, MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, ETASMeasure Data Analyzer (MDA), AVL CRETA, Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, and Vehicle Spy tools, and neoVI FIRE and FIRE 2 hardware. Collaborate with algorithm/software and hardware engineers. Decode complex control algorithms using embedded C/C++ and Simulink models. Deliver motor diagnostic calibrations to ensure feature and diagnostic functionality and robustness according to internal standards. Validate drivability matrices and support testing and validation field trips for high altitude, hot and cold weather propulsions systems testing in Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, & Utah. Required U.S. travel to perform propulsions systems testing, ~4 weeks per year (equal to ~8% annual travel).
Additional Description
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Twenty-four months’ experience as Engineer or related. Must also have experience with calibrating and testing electric drive unit (DU) or gasoline internal combustion engine (ICE) passenger vehicle propulsion or powertrain systems in-vehicle and on test bench, using MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, ETAS Measure Data Analyzer (MDA), and Vehicle Spy tools.
