Become a part of the Capgemini Engineering team as an OBD Calibration Engineer, where our dedication to encouraging diversity and inclusion is central to our work culture.
This role entails a diverse range of responsibilities and necessitates specific qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement the calibration of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) for various components such as Emission Monitors, Rationalities, Charge Control Modules (CCM), Electric Powertrain (ePT), and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV).
Perform Diagnostics Calibration following the California Air Resources Board (CARB) OBD Evaluation Procedures (OBDEL).
Validate calibrations against CARB OBDEL standards.
Verify Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) alignment to specified guidelines.
Generate weekly reports on OBD status to facilitate Quality Gate (QG) reviews.
Chip in to On-Road OBD validation for In-Use Monitoring Performance Ratio (IUMPR).
Conduct data acquisition and analysis of fleet data to ensure IUMPR compliance.
Capture development fleet data and store analysis results in the DART database.
Ensure emission monitors meet CARB Compliance standards, achieving a target 6 Sigma separation between passing and failing.
Provide technical support for OBD Calibration, including assistance with Hot, Altitude, and Cold Development Activities as per QG requirements.
Analyze issues encountered during the development process and propose effective solutions.
Support proposals sought at improving IUMPR and achieving low separation.
Track, lead, and maintain Work Package Authorization (WPA) and Build Plan Update (BPU) for system hardware and components.
Qualifications:
A degree and Industrial Certification in electrical, mechanical, or controls engineering.
Proven record to multitask and maintain organization in a dynamic work environment.
Experience collaborating with cross-regional teams.
Possess a valid driver’s license for the respective region to conduct vehicle testing.
High proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
