SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Director of Finance Technology, Training, and Profess Optimization to join the Mortenson family. In this role, you will be a key leader in supporting the realization of Finance Strategy by optimizing our enterprise-wide FINANCE TECHnology systems, sustaining and strategically influencing our cloud-based platforms, driving continuous business PROCESS OPTIMIZATION, and ensuring high-quality TRAINING AND resources are available for team members to utilize to best manage Company performance. Key to this role is your ability to think strategically, build cross-functional relationships, apply critical thinking skills, and take the initiative to drive results. You will partner with stakeholders across Finance and other areas of the business to drive innovation, create insights, and enable progress through our technology platform, business processes and teams. You should also be able to articulate the value of your work to business partners and senior leaders in the business. As a successful Finance leader, you will be comfortable using your influence to support our team and drive our work forward.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee Finance Technology Team; ensuring advancement of capabilities through full utilization of existing system and ongoing cloud upgrades, navigating complex issues that arise, decisions involving system strategy/selection and significant changes in systems AND PROCESSes.
  • Key partner alongside IT in Quarterly Business Review Meetings with key technology vendors (Oracle, Procore, UKG, Vertex, Textura, etc.)
  • Lead Finance Process Optimization function, managing a team focused on continuous process improvement across Finance and stretching into related areas, such as Operations and other Business Service Groups.
  • Lead Reporting team for Finance, with responsibility for delivering key production reports necessary to run the business, providing expertise in report-writing capabilities not held within individual Finance teams, and with strong connections to IT for the creation of enterprise-level reporting solutions.
  • Lead Training functionally within Finance, and also for project financial management boot camps across the broader organization, ensuring that coursework is relevant and provides the information needed for the organization to effectively manage projects and optimize financial outcomes. Also includes coordinating timely updates of MortNet sites, Operations Manual policies, quick reference guides, training materials and live trainers for classes.
  • Stay abreast of the external evolving Finance landscape, both technologically and operationally, and how it can best support our growing business.
  • Understand, represent, and model the vision, organizational strategy, and initiatives of the Finance Executive Leadership team and deep dive on specific topics identified as high priority
  • Establish highly collaborative relationships across Finance, IT, HR, Supply Chain, Operations and other internal stakeholders, partnering on strategy execution to ensure alignment and accomplish objectives.
  • Develop, execute, and manage key strategic departmental communications.
  • Key leader in Enterprise-level governance process, identifying connections and efficiencies between Finance systems and other enterprise systems organizational sensing to uncover leading practices within the company and elsewhere that can be leveraged for collaborative success.
  • Provide overall leadership, coaching, and development to the team, and effectively manage performance

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required, preference for management consulting or Finance backgrounds
  • Minimum ten years of experience
  • Prior experience leading a Finance Technology / Transformation Department
  • Experience leading teams and developing people
  • Strong technical, business and finance acumen
  • IT/Technology interest and knowledge
  • Excellent decision-making abilities
  • Curious, continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Diverse background that cuts across functions and business challenges
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
