POSITION SUMMARY
The Dental Administrative Assistant is responsible for the front desk operation of the dental clinic. This entails all aspects of patient check-in and check-out including gathering and verifying all patient information, entering charges and collecting patient fees. This position will answer incoming phone calls, schedule patient appointments and prepare bank deposits. Must be a great team player, self-starter, work quickly and efficiently under pressure, have problem solving skills, excellent customer service skills and work well with a diverse population.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Director of Dental Operations. No other roles report to this position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES and FUNCTIONS

- Actively participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals by working efficiently and providing a high level of patient service
- Verify patient demographics, ensure correct insurance information is on file and collect co-pays
- Dental billing
- Coordinate all aspects of patient care
- Cheerfully greet and check-in patients
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Schedule appointments
- Accurately maintain detailed patient records in a fast-paced environment
- Perform clerical duties such as copying, faxing, filing, emailing, etc.
- Professional demeanor throughout the work day
- Assist with other duties as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of medical or dental office experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience with dental billing software preferred
- Able to multi-task without losing quality work
- Certified Dental Assistant is a PLUS, not required
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail
- Must be reliable and punctual
- Must have attention to detail
- Must be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with many changing priorities
- Must be professional and customer service oriented to deliver quality excellent care
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and cover at other clinics when necessary
