Database Analyst I

Position Definition:                                                                                                                                   

Under general supervision of the Principal investigator, the Research Data Analyst acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis, with a focus on machine and deep learning. Works with biomedical research data such as pathology whole slide images, simulated molecular data, clinical images of lesions, and/or transcriptomic data. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.

Essential Functions:

• Code computer vision AI models, debug AI code, participate in data acquisition and analysis
• Assist in manuscript preparation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Master's Degree in an associated field
• Preferred: 1-2 Years of experience programming experience, deep learning experience, and machine learning experience
• Statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties
• Good organizational and computer skills
• Basic consultation and communication skills
• Ability to supervise students
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Comfort recruiting, interviewing, and talking with participants on the phone
• Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline
• Preferred: Prior experience coding with PyTorch work programming and Python data science and programming, experience with SQL, experience with image based artificial intelligenc, convolutional neural networks experience
• Preferred: Computer Science -or- Systems Biology -or- Computational Biology -or- Bioinformatics -or- Biophysics-or- equivalent degree with a computational component, at Bachelor’s or Master’s level
• Biomedical image analysis experience (e.g., pathology images)

Working Conditions/Environment:

The work environment for this position will include an indoor office and a medical research environment.  It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, temperature variations, etc. The incumbent may sustain posture in standing or seated position and may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.

The base salary range for this position is $26.84-34.90 per hour. The base salary actually offered to a successful candidate will take into account various relevant and non-discriminatory business factors including, without limitation, the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, and skills, and education, as well as internal equity considerations. A successful candidate may also be eligible to earn additional compensation including bonuses.
