The Role:

As Corporate Counsel, you will be a part of the Americas Legal team, providing legal and compliance support to GKN Automotive's sites and functions in the Americas.  This role adds value by mitigating risk in our operations by providing proactive, pragmatic legal advice.

Work Location: Hybrid Schedule. Three On-Site days a week will be in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
What will you do? 

• Provide legal support on customer and supplier contracts.
• Advise on legal disputes and litigation in the region.
• Advise on a range of legal & compliance topics, including contracting, disputes, labor law and competition law.
• Undertaking any necessary compliance investigations in the region.
• Train personnel on relevant legal and compliance topics.
• Support strategic projects in the region, including reorganisations, restructurings, joint ventures and collaborations.
• Manage external law firms where appropriate and approved by the Regional General Counsel.
• Ensure that the Regional General Counsel is kept up to date on all material legal issues affecting GKN Automotive's businesses and joint ventures in the Region.

What are we looking for? 

Education:  Juris Doctorate degree. Must be admitted to practice Law in Michigan
Experience in interpreting, drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. Three years relevant experience gained in a major law firm and/or corporate legal department. Experience in advising on various legal matters, including commercial disputes.
