Position Overview:
The Associate Corporate Financial Reporting Manager position within Core Spaces embraces ambition and innovation to serve the Core Spaces Corporate entities. The Associate Manager supervises the day-to-day Corporate Accounting operations and facilitates an effective and efficient month-end close process.
What You Will Do:
- Review and post journal entries in compliance with US GAAP and the company’s policies and procedures
- Lead the month-end closing process, including review of account reconciliations and preparation of the monthly financial reporting package
- Audit requests and technical accounting research
- Preparation of monthly financial statements for corporate entities in accordance with US
- GAAP, ensuring all balances are properly stated and supporting schedules are accurate and complete
- Analyze and provide explanations for financial statement variances
- Collaborate with FP&A on review of actual to budget performance
- Collaborate with property/development accounting team regularly to ensure the team is making the
- appropriate equity/investment accounting entries at the project/property level
- Develop and update reconciliations for all investor level contributions and distributions
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and other government tax requirements, including reporting, and filings
- Review G/L coding and descriptions on invoices and expense reports for corporate entities
- Review invoices for bill-backs and intercompany transactions
- Work with Treasury team to monitor cash balances
- Respond to internal inquiries pertaining to financials
- Mentor junior team members, external accountants, and other staff
- Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
Ideally, you'll have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 4+ years of related experience
- Public accounting and/or real estate industry experience
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Comfortable working in an open, team-oriented environment
- Experience with various accounting technology platforms
You'll crush it if you have experience with:
- Experience with Yardi
- Experience with SaaS accounting
- ASC 606, ASC 810, ASC 842
