SalaryFederal Signal Corporation is seeking a Corporate Staff Accountant for its Oak Brook headquarters - This position offers a hybrid work environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain cash accounts, monthly bank reconciliations and treasury assistance.
- Prepare analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly invoices related to inter-company and other accounts.
- Prepare and upload recurring and miscellaneous monthly journal entries.
- Upload Corporate actual financials and forecasts, including supplemental data, into Cognos.
- Monitor and review monthly reconciliation and journal entry binders for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist internal and external auditors with requests and questions specific to the Staff Accountant’s accounts. Support the preparation of various SEC filings, including Form 10-Q/K.
- Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
- CPA, or CPA candidate, highly preferred
- Prior accounting experience via an internship, public accounting or corporate accounting role preferred
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Introductory knowledge of the following preferred:
- FASB and SEC rules and regulations,
- Enterprise Resource Planning system, and
- Consolidation software
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
- Ability to adapt to and operate within a fast-paced environment
