POSITION SUMMARY

The Corporate Accountant will serve on a team of 4 supporting the company and its growing service lines. In tandem with another Corporate Accountant, emphasis will be placed on general ledger accounting, accounts payable and billing. The two Corporate Accountants are responsible for supporting the completion of consolidated financial statements for 7 entities, along with other related projects/tasks as needed. Communication with various departments is daily and the ability to form strong internal relationships is critical to the success of the role. Days will also include diversity, autonomy to trouble-shoot and living the MedHQ RITE values.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards and other balance sheet accounts as needed.

· Generates invoices and/or billing statements for payments due to corporate for various revenue streams. Processes accounts payable with the assistance of AP automation tool.

· May provide support to accounts receivable through receipt and processing of check and ACH deposits .

· Enters financial data and transactions into the ledger including adjusting journal entries.

· Assists Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting. Supports Controller and outside accounting firms in preparation of tax returns and audit of corporate books.

· Contributes to automating processes and creating efficiencies in current procedures.

· Other projects and assignments as needed.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three years of experience in accounting. Having at least one year in a healthcare or PEO organization is a plus.
• Subject Matter Expertise of financial accounting, analysis and reporting to design, modify and manage an accounting system.
• Knowledge of reimbursement procedures to compile and allocate cost information to specific accounts.
• Experience with computer systems, spreadsheet and financial systems programs, applications and governmental regulations.
• Proficiency in preparing financial reports and computer applications.
• Expertise in exercising initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.
• Talented in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with client administrative staff.
• Skill in identifying and resolving accounting problems.
• Ability to work creatively with management and department staff to achieve objectives.

EDUCATION

• Degree in Finance / Accounting from an accredited university.
• CPA preferred; not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
