The Senior Tax Accountant reports to Hub Group’s State & Local Tax Director. Responsibilities include tax compliance, as well as other aspects of the state income tax cycle for all of Hub Group’s entities.
Essential Job Functions
· Prepare state income tax returns.
· Prepare state apportionment calculations.
· Prepare estimated tax payments and extensions.
· Assist with the preparation of 1099’s.
· Participate in tax audits.
· Participate in acquisition due diligence, integrations, and tax planning.
· Conducting tax research.
· Opportunities to learn other, non-income, areas of state taxes.
· Special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or tax required.
· Two years or more of corporate or public accounting experience preferred.
· CPA certification or MST is a plus, but not required.
· Mastery of tax fundamentals, and experience preparing state income tax returns.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, deadline oriented, and strong work ethic.
· Ability to multitask priorities, being flexible to adapt to change with new systems and new acquisitions, while working in a team environment.
· Experience with common online tax research services.
· Experience with Corptax software preferred.
· Software used: Corptax, Oracle ERP, Exactera Tax Provision, Microsoft Office Suite.
