Controls Specialist - Night Shift
Job Purpose:
The Controls Specialist team member designs, installs, and maintains control systems in a fast-paced industrial setting. Abilities ensure that projects are completed safely, on budget, and on schedule. This position directly impacts financial, quality, and safety metrics that need complete understanding and adherence to federal and state regulatory requirements and company and customer policies for production standards. A qualified candidate must be able to perform the following:
Qualifications of the Controls Specialist:
• Degree or the equivalent of 3+ years' experience within industrial Controls.
• Strong electrical circuit troubleshooting, components, VFD, and HMI.
• Strong SQL, Rockwell Automation, Ignition HMI (Python-based) programming, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley Rockwell Automation products Micro logix, compactlogix, controllogix, point IO, Kinetix, powerflex, etc.,
• Expertly troubleshoot electrical components including but not limited to sensors, switches, relays, contactors, linear transducers, pressure sensors, fuses, breakers, PLC, IO modules, solenoids, lights, motors, etc.
• Basic understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, etc
• Ability to interpret and create electrical prints.
• Basic understanding of Industrial Ethernet networks, Vlans, DHCP, etc.
• Ability and willingness to work across multiple shifts and overtime as needed.
• Driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Technical aptitude test performed on-site and other testing to determine skill level.
• Must pass drug and alcohol screening when hired and randomly after hiring.
• Safety minded with the ability to acquire an OSHA 30 certification.
Specific Duties:
• Follow safety policies.
• Interface with engineering teams on designs and prints.
• Build/modify machine circuits with and without prints.
• Ability to use a computer to track project time/cost.
• Follow the guidance, as well as develop projects independently.
• Consider longevity and maintenance in control systems.
• Provide controls system reporting feedback on errors and other machine performance to supervisors and maintenance technicians.
• Provide various data collection and reporting using inductive automation ignition software.
• Provide support to the maintenance team to resolve production issues.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to other team members and projects.
• Replace and install components and parts as needed.
• Perform installation of various projects.
• Perform PM on electrical systems.
• All other duties as assigned.
