Officed at Fair Market LLC’s headquarters in Montgomery City, MO, the Inventory Control & Procurement Specialist for Fair Market & Supreme Cuisine is a crucial member of the company’s supply chain organization. This position is a strategic resource to plan, coordinate and control all activities related to, scheduling, buying, receiving, storing, and Inventory Control of all materials necessary for the facility to meet their repack, manufacturing and sales commitments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Hands on management of inventory including third party warehoused product
Coordinate supplier development and partnership activities with corporate objectives.
Utilize supplier performance tools consistent with those used across the organization
Perform management level analysis on raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods inventory, including requirements planning, inventory rotation and turns, and aging/obsolescence risk mitigation
Coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as equipment, tools, parts, and supplies
Provide weekly and monthly reporting on raw material, repack availability, packaging, finished goods, etc.
Provide proper classification of inventory segments and markets, i.e. Retail, Foodservice, etc.
Document training for warehouse staff to ensure inventory counts/locations are accurate· Coordinate and execute inventory cycle counts, and annual physical inventories as required/requested
Reconcile and investigate inventory shortages and implement counter-measures· Process and resolve damage claims
Establish inventory cycle count process in multiple warehouses
Develop relationships with key suppliers. Leverage relationships to provide superior vendor relations and cost savings.
Collaborate with repack group to ensure visibility to and accuracy of inventory on hand
Actively promote continuous improvement – identify and implement necessary changes Control process on inventory adjustments
Become proficient at using FreshByte Software
Monitor inventory levels / changes at third party warehouses
Perform root cause analysis with warehouses on Inventory Control issues
Interactively support procurement & sales staff with necessary product, customer and supplier information
Generate purchase orders as needed
Lead sourcing analysis and vendor selection process. Perform cost analysis and recommendations as required
Perform other related duties, as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Broad knowledge and experience with Inventory Control for multiple warehouses MRP/ERP system experience
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Education / Experience:·
3+ years of Inventory Control experience required
Food Industry experience preferred
Manufacturing / Distribution experience preferred
Buyer / Contract negotiation experience a plus
