Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and we are looking for a highly motivated Part-Time Contract Specialist Course Auditor to join our team supporting our Department of Veterans Affairs, VAAA client in Frederick, MD. The mission of the Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) is to deliver customer-focused training and professional development solutions that equip the Federal workforce to deliver acquisition excellence in service to the Veteran.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Contract Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy by reviewing, auditing, and contributing to the development of contracting-related courses. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough research to enhance courseware development on various acquisition topics.
- Assisting in presentations and utilizing adult learning environment software for effective training.
- Documenting technical accuracy in both in-person and distance learning courses using a government-provided audit form.
- Evaluating instructors' understanding of course material and identifying areas of training that may require correction or supplementation.
- Providing expert insights on acquisition topics to instructional design teams.
- Participating in internal pilots and dry runs, offering valuable feedback based on acquisition subject matter expertise.
- Drafting, reviewing, and submitting final course audit reports to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Possess FAC-C/DAWIA Contracting Level III certification.
- Have accumulated 10 or more years of experience, serving as a 1102 in various federal acquisition roles (GS-14 and above).
- Reside within the East Coast or Central Time Zones.
- Commit to providing an average of 15 hours per week, with a flexible work schedule except for a standing meeting on Tuesdays.
