We are looking for a full-time Structural Engineer, PE in our Anchorage office to be an integral part of the success of our company. Full-time Structural Engineer having the expertise and skillset to work independently in the analysis and design of code-compliant structures, under the guidance of the group manager or lead Structural Engineer. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, analyze and inspect structures for commercial and industrial projects throughout Alaska.
• Perform structural design calculations for new and existing buildings, retaining structures, and other civil structures.
• Generate structural drawings and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop engineering reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent understanding of Structural Engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit and other structural design and analysis software.
• Good working knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings, bridges, roads, and other related structures.
• Good understanding of design codes and standards related to assigned projects.
• Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be both creative and analytical.
• Detail-oriented and accurate.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Amenable to traveling to rural parts of Alaska on occasion.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 4 - 7 years of relevant experience in structural design.
• PE required.
• Proficient knowledge of structural design software (RISA, ENERCALC, etc.).
• Working knowledge of REVIT Structural.
• Experience designing wood, steel, concrete, and masonry.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to travel to various project sites.
• Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
