We are currently seeking a results-driven Executive Leader for an Illinois-based vertically integrated cannabis company to develop and lead this startup organization’s cultivation, manufacturing and retail operations within the state.
This key COO/CEO Executive leader will serve an integral role in the company, responsible for the strategic leadership and direction of their diverse social equity-driven business operations, and securing the functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth.
The ideal candidate would be an all-inclusive, experienced and detail-oriented operational leader, with strong experience from cannabis, food or CPG manufacturing industries, with the ability to manage multiple divisions, including cultivation, manufacturing and processing, inventory, logistics, and distribution and strong retail operations.
The COO/CEO will lead and direct all aspects of the operations across multiple facilities within the state, requiring a hands on leader who is strategic in focus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Foster a positive, success-oriented, accountable, and inclusive Company work environment.
Plan, develop, implement and direct the start-up organization’s operational and fiscal function and performance.
Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
Oversee daily operations of the company including Retail, Production, Distribution, Marketing, Sales, and Finance etc.
Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Participate in expansion activities including; investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.
Manage relationships with strategic partners and vendors
Education and experience requirements include
Master's or Bachelor’s degree in related management, manufacturing, accounting or administration
8-10 years’ hands-on experience in manufacturing, warehouse and logistics with a minimum of three years’ supervisory experience
Excellent people skills, business acumen and exemplary work ethics
Proven track record of managing large scale projects from conception (start-up) to implementation within time and budget constraints
Previous experience working to operationalize a vertically integrated adult-use cannabis license (cultivation and retail)
Extensive management experience
In-depth understanding of the cannabis industry including compliance, and regulatory requirements
In-depth understanding of accounting principles including budgeting, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and capital planning management
Proven project and budget management experience with driven financial results
Ability to analyze data, interpret and apply legislation, develop systems and standard operating procedures, and manage risk based on data and statistics
Proven expertise in organizational development and operations management, lean manufacturing principles, strategic and business planning methods, project planning and coordinating
Knowledge of technical, scientific and regulatory principles related to the cannabis industry a plus
Ability to lead and influence a diverse team during change, while maintaining cooperation, motivation and cohesiveness in a lean environment
Compensation: Salary $210,000 $240,000+ based on experience, plus bonus, benefits, and potential equity participation
