Job description

The Ithaca College School of Health Sciences & Human Performance invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology and FIELDWORK COORDINATOR position to begin July 1, 2024, or as soon thereafter as feasible. This is a non-tenure eligible three-year renewable appointment; this position can be fully remote. The successful candidate will teach assigned classes in speech-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY and serve as the FIELDWORK COORDINATOR for our online master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, participating in departmental, school, and college service; and advising students as needed. Scholarly activity is required per departmental policy for clinical faculty. The FIELDWORK COORDINATOR will be responsible for managing all aspects of clinical placements for online students in the M.S. degree program, in cooperation with the contract specialist for the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance and the graduate chair of the online program. The position requires the ability to manage databases, maintain records, meet deadlines, and problem-solve under tight timelines. The coordinator serves as the supervisor and liaison for all practicum experiences for the online graduate modality.

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements: master’s degree in communication disorders; Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; minimum of 3 years’ experience in provision of clinical service; at least 1 year of clinical supervisory experience; potential for excellence in teaching. Minimum of 2 hours continuing education in clinical supervision, per ASHA requirements. Preferred characteristics include: prior experience in academic teaching in postsecondary setting; supervising clinical placements; experience and expertise in online teaching; administrative experience; experience in supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, access and belonging initiatives.

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology at Ithaca College recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. The master’s degree in speech-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Ithaca College is consistently ranked among the best in the Northeast, and is noted for hands-on preprofessional education, offering both liberal arts and professional degrees. The School of Health Sciences and Human Performance offers graduate degrees in a range of allied health and medical fields, including athletic training, exercise science, occupational and physical therapy, and physician assistant studies.

All bargaining unit faculty members shall be covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Ithaca College and Services Employees International Union, Local 200 United. Full time bargaining unit employees are all limited term faculty teaching term appointments on a full-time non-tenured and non-tenure track basis employed by Ithaca College at its Ithaca, New York campus.
