We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our organization. As the COO, you will be responsible for upholding the mission of Alivio Medical Center by managing the day-to-day operations of the health center. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong strategic planning, program management, and operations management skills.
The COO will support the CEO and the senior leadership team with the following responsibilities:
- Supervises operational staffing and processes for medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, and clinical supporting systems in collaboration with relevant managers and clinical leaders for each program area.
- Facilitates the organization’s planning process, providing leadership for research, analysis, plan development and execution.
- Leads the development of annual goals, objectives and strategies for the following business units: medical, dental, and behavioral health.
- Collaborates with senior leaders and relevant managers to develop and monitor business models/plans for current and future business units.
- Sets priorities for performance management systems, including the facilitation of reporting and monitoring of organizational performance metrics.
- Works with CEO to support the board of directors and relevant board committees.
- Maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitates open and timely communication between team members and external customers.
- Promotes positive communications and keeps employees informed of changes by ensuring meetings with appropriate staff are conducted and documented.
- Performs other duties as required to help the organization accomplish its mission.
This position is 100% in office, in person.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related discipline. A combination of education and related experience, in lieu of a Masters Degree, will be considered.
- Minimum of five years of relevant healthcare administration experience required
- Bilingual - English/Spanish
- Requires a comprehensive understanding of health care issues involved in providing leadership at a Community Health Center.
- Requires strong interpersonal communication and mediation skills to successfully lead, motivate, and collaborate with a very diverse staff in a variety of capacities throughout the organization.
- Requires experience and demonstrated abilities for working in a multi-cultural setting.
- Ability to strongly embrace and personify the mission of the Alivio Medical Center, through performing work in a whole person way, providing for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of staff members and patients.
- Ability to organize, direct, prioritize, and delegate work appropriately.
- Requires analytical skills necessary for directing financial, legal, and administrative tasks.
- Ability to use Initiative and creativity for problem solving and pro-active improvement of the health center operations.
