The Chief Financial Officer is an officer of the company and is responsible for the overall financial health and well-being of the company. In addition to developing financial strategies that support the company’s overall business goals, the CFO is responsible for overseeing all accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, quality control, and procurement functions. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgment. Reports to the CEO and is part of the Senior Leadership Team. Direct reports include A/P and A/R Managers, Accounts, Sr. Quality Engineer, and Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the CFO include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze data, both financial and operational, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company’s overall business goals
- Work with the CEO to advise, analyze, and manage due diligence through transaction closure for acquisitions
- Conduct weekly or monthly one on one meetings with your direct reports. Discuss needs and objectives.
- Manage the year-end review process and subsequent ESOP valuation
- Manage all relationship with the financial institutions in order to maintain an adequate line of credit, Compliance, etc.
- Review and approve customer terms and conditions
- Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Oversee the accounts receivable department, including the collection of accounts receivable, management of credit risks, and preparation of aging reports
- Oversee the accounts payable department, including the processing of vendor invoices, payment of bills, and management of accounts payable
- Oversee the quality control department, including the development and implementation of quality control procedures, monitoring of quality control results, and reporting of quality control issues
- Oversee the procurement department, including the development and implementation of procurement procedures, sourcing of goods and services, and management of inventory levels to achieve customer satisfaction and meet company financial objectives
- Collaborate with CTO, CIB, and others to develop and implement tools for operational efficiencies in all departments
- Maintain and evaluate company sales data for commission calculation for sales force
- Evaluate all contracts for the organization as well as project terms for large customers
- Drive annual evaluation of insurance contracts and budgeting for property/casualty and employee benefits spend
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in a financial leadership role
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of and experience in the leadership and management of the accounting, procurement, and QA functions: leading, planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, measuring, and communicating
- Experience with ESOP's is prefered
- Project and time management skills; ability to effectively work on multiple priorities and deliver consistent and timely results
- Travel – travel required via car and plane as necessary to branch locations
