Senior Business Process Engineer

BMD, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Process Engineer to join our IT department. This is a high-profile role leading projects across the BMD Home Appliance Businesses. As a Senior Business Process Engineer, you will help guide the BMD continuous improvement culture, including responsibilities for driving change across a wide range of Business Processes through the application of technology to propel the business forward.
The ideal candidate will bring to bear their wholesale distribution technology expertise by identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Your role will lead the IT department’s focus on delivering creative and efficient end-to-end solutions that increase productivity while driving out costs and improving the customer experience, as you partner with the business unit stakeholders to solve complex business challenges with practical, elegant technology solutions.
This is a remote position with on-call responsibilities and some travel required.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop business cases for operational improvements through process optimization and the application of technology.
- Design and direct projects that implement improved workflows based on optimized Business Processes.
- Lead technology projects, including quote-to-sale, warehouse, transportation, and installation to ensure that our productivity, quality and customer expectations are achieved timely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production, customer service, operations, and logistics issues across the BMD family of companies.
- Create, implement, and document procedures that optimize accuracy and efficiency in processing information, assistance requests, and general customer support.
- Use multiple tools and methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Process Optimization, etc.) to analyze data and processes as a main reason for performance opportunities.
- Engage partners to ensure ongoing support and adoption of deployed solutions.
- Develop and build effective relationships with staff and business partners. Investigate and resolve business issues and problems in accordance with company policies and procedures while representing the company with integrity and professionalism.
- Establish and track metrics to discover areas for improvement and reduce operational friction.
- Guide the ongoing success of continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Qualifications:
The right candidate will be strong with PMP skills even if not certified.
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Finance, or Information Systems.
5+ years in an Information Technology role or equivalent experience in a business analyst (or similar) role.
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (preferred). Certification opportunity may be provided for the right candidate.
Understanding of transformation opportunities and methodologies including Robotic Process Automation, Cognitive Analytics, Design Thinking, and Agile.
Proven experience with multiple business models in wholesale distribution, or manufacturing. If you’re also a subject matter expert in home appliance distribution that will be a plus.
Database and systems development is a plus.
Experience with integrating new technology into an existing business environment.
Drive projects from ideation to executive approval, design, testing, implementation, go live, and post go live KPI success criteria.
