Business Development Representative

OVERVIEW
The Business Development Representative role focuses on generating qualified prospects to drive new membership sales and assist the sales team with revenue-generating projects. This role focuses on acquisition of new members into the FTD network through cold calling, cold emailing, social selling, networking, and other prospecting methods. This role will also be essential in driving additional revenue into the organization by calling into existing members to enlist participation in strategic initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach to prospects.
- Drive sales growth and pipeline through qualified opportunities.
- Identify the needs and challenges of the prospective customer.
- Produce creative strategies for targeting decision-makers at prospect accounts to book sales appointments and influence company revenue.
- Determine the prospect's interest in FTD membership, as well as other products and services.
- Determine member's network capabilities and offer a contract to establish a new partnership.
- Coach the prospect through the application process (IE set-ups, zip coverage, filling out the W0, etc.).
- Meet daily minimum requirements for outbound calls and notes.
- Update and keep detailed notes in CRM system.
- Help transition a new FTD member to the assigned Field Account Manager and provide insight into FTD's onboarding experience through proper expectation setting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to improve the overall customer experience.
- Achieve assigned sales target goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of related experience in customer facing role.
- Understanding of the floral industry preferred.
- Experience with outreach sales strategies to meet activity goals and sales targets.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to incorporate appropriate phone etiquette.
- Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel.
- Knowledge of business processes, time management, and organizational structures.
- Clear problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation and adaptability.
- Familiarity with SalesForce and Adobe.
- Capable in MS Office Suite (Including MS Teams).
