Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth in assigned territories and accounts by establishing new clients for AbleNet's speech device medical Funding Service. The primary focus is to attract new speech-language pathologist customers by proactively prospecting leads and contacts served up by marketing, ensuring they understand the value of AbleNet's Funding Service, and building lasting relationships to support their clients' needs. Our Business Development team is passionate about our products and services that improve the lives of people with disabilities and the professionals that serve them. We help customers understand that we are their preferred partners for the products and services we provide in the disability space.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively prospect leads and contacts generated by marketing to drive the acquisition of new customers, particularly speech-language pathologists.
- Establish new clients through targeted sales techniques, including cold calling, responding to marketing leads, and leveraging existing networks.
- Leverage key stakeholder contact points within customer organizations to promote AbleNet's speech device medical Funding Service.
- Schedule and conduct customer meetings and presentations via phone, Teams, or Zoom.
- Position AbleNet's speech device medical Funding Service as the primary resource for customer needs.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with new customers, particularly speech-language pathologists.
- Identify, create, develop, and manage opportunities in the sales pipeline accurately and consistently in Salesforce to achieve sales targets and goals.
- Manage geographic and named account territories to achieve all sales goals.
- Collaborate proactively with internal departments to address customer needs and improve outcomes.
- Ensure CRM tools and AbleNet's sales journey methodologies are leveraged to process and track opportunities.
- Regularly meet or exceed individual quarterly/monthly/weekly targets for BD KPIs, including outbound activity, opportunities generated, and closed business.
- Maintain required activity levels, such as a minimum sales meetings per week.
- Utilize phone and virtual conference tools to develop and qualify leads, schedule appointments, conduct meetings, and close sales.
- Perform sales presentations, manage administrative tasks, and maintain account records in accordance with AbleNet's Business Development guidelines.
- Report weekly metrics, sales forecasts, and make recommendations to advance accounts towards closure.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology
- 2+ years of experience as an SLP funding QuickTalker Freestyle AAC devices
- K-12 and/or medical marketplace selling experience preferred.
- Energetic, self-starter with strong work ethic and territory management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook), CRM (Salesforce or similar platform), and virtual presentation tools (Skype, Zoom, or similar).

Time Commitment:
- Exempt employees are expected to work an average minimum of 40-45 hours per week. Additional hours, outside of normal business hours, may be required as necessary.
