Business Development Assistant

Tokio Marine HCC - Public Risk Group, a member of the Tokio Marine group of companies, is a market leader in providing specialized insurance products for municipal entities. We cover counties, cities, townships, villages, police department, prisons, fire departments and more. We serve the growing insurance and risk management needs of medium and large governmental entities and provide property and casualty insurance coverages in multiple states.

We are looking for a PART-TIME (20- 25 HRS PER WEEK) Business Development Assistant to join our team, preferably working within Central or Mountain Time. This role reports to the Director of Business Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports Director of Business Development.
• Updates and maintains Business Development logs, reports and spreadsheets.
• Assist with conference planning, preparation and management.
• Assist with department expenses management and Business Development/Marketing budget.
• Assist with research and preparation of documents for presentations by PRG group professionals.
• Assist with research and preparation of documents for publication.
• Support in ad-hoc tasks and projects with various departments within PRG.
• Work on various projects as assigned, including research and metrics.
• Support Business Development with the processing of new business and renewal submissions.
• Prepare welcome packet for new insureds.
• Work closely with Marketing department to create professional templates/applications/marketing pieces to distribute to brokers and insureds (Adobe Acrobat).

Education

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.

Experience

• Minimum of five (5) years of administrative support experience preferably within the insurance industry.
• P&C insurance industry experience is an asset.

Other

• Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
• Takes initiative and is a Self-Starter.
• Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word

• Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities.
• May be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time.
• May be required to move up to 10 pounds.
• Must be able to operate a computer and other devices.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus, such as required to read a computer screen.
