Description
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the organization's financial data and maintaining accurate transactions.
Job Title: Bookkeeper

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
• College degree in accounting and/or 2 or more years of related experience
• Strong mathematical skills and advanced computer skills
• Proficient in accounting software programs
• Familiar with HUD accounting practices a plus, will train if necessary
• Experience with Medicaid, Workers Comp and HR a plus
• Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
• Excellent communication skills and a team player
• Networking knowledge a plus
• Must be able to pass criminal and drug background tests as required by Bureau of Licensing and corporate policies
• Must be able to work respectfully and compassionately with older adults
Training:
• Attend all required in-service training
Working Conditions (travel, hours, and environment):
• Ability to work on a dedicated schedule
Physical /Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices.)
• Medium work- Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Long periods of sitting with occasional standing and walking
• Frequent bending, stooping, squatting and reaching
• Occasional twisting and kneeling
Compensation:
• Compensation DOE. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and 401k
Requirements
Essential Functions:
• Adhere to Orchard Ridge's policies and procedures.
• Perform general bookkeeping duties: general journal entries, resident billing, intercompany transfers, and assist with annual audit.
• Perform all payroll related functions, insurance, and garnishments in an accurate and prompt manner according to state and federal guidelines.
• Maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for users and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Record rent payments, Medicaid, Pharmacy billing, Workers Comp, HR
• Work closely with vendors to ensure accuracy of billing
Salary Description
$18 - $20/hour
