Bookkeeper

Job Summary:
The Manhattan-based fashion company is currently seeking a Bookkeeper to oversee and manage the organization's financial transactions. The ideal candidate for this role should possess key attributes such as consistency, precision, and a commitment to minimizing errors.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide an accurate record of financial transaction

2. Update and maintain the general ledger

3. Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system

4. Recording of debits and credits

5. Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers

6. Account reconciliation to affirm the accuracy of transactions

7. Apply knowledge of local and Federal laws to adhere with reporting requirements

Typical work day includes:

1. Daily bank reconciliation

2. Maintaining Account Receivable:

• Factor and non-factor
• Recording online sales and receiving payments

3. Maintaining Account Payable

4. Maintaining Inventories

5. Recording expenses and managing payments

6. Managing shipment of merchandise to customers:

• Handling routing requests
• Making appointment with the carrier
• Invoicing

7. Filing taxes:

• Sales Taxes
• Corporate Tax Return
• Commercial Rental Tax Return
• Working with CPA for tax compliance

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting best practices

2. Must have knowledge of accounting framework, such as IFRS or U.S GAAP

3. Data entry skills

4. High attention to detail

5. High proficiency in QuickBook and Microsoft Excel

6. Ability to work with a high level of accuracy

7. Associates degree or at least one year of experience
