NOTE: THIS IS A PART TIME REMOTE POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN NY OR NJ WITHIN 2 HOURS OF NYC FOR QUARTERLY IN-PERSON MEETINGS.

Opportunity and Job Description
-We have a very unique remote working opportunity for someone to join our growing team at a Part-Time Bookkeeper. The responsibilities of the job are as follows:
-Maintaining and updating books (QuickBooks Online) for service-based clients, who are primarily female-owned small businesses with revenue between $200K-$5M. Will eventually work with up to 20-25 clients.
-Maintaining links in books to bank and credit card accounts, and categorizing transactions (including payroll)
-Creating and maintaining chart of accounts
-Creating and matching payments for vendor bills and client invoices (including tracking of reimbursable expenses)
-Reconciling books to bank and credit card statements
-Troubleshooting/analyzing trends and red flags in client’s books
-Downloading reports to send to clients
-Conducting e-mail correspondence with clients directly
Who and What we are looking for
-3+ years of bookkeeping specific experience working with small businesses and extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and reviewing books through Quickbooks Online
-Your background is specifically within bookkeeping not staff accounting or general accounting for a large firm or corporation
-A Bachelors in Accounting is a plus but not required
-You are able to begin training by the beginning of February
-You are able to travel to NYC to meet on a periodic basis, approximately quarterly
-Proficiency in Mac Operating System, Microsoft Word & Excel, Quickbooks Online, and Google Suite/Workspace. A Quickbooks tutorial will be done and recorded as part of the interview process to ensure proficiency.
-You do not own your own business
-You live in NY or NJ & within a less than 2 hour commute from NYC

Part Time, But Committed!
-Beginning with 5 hours per week & growing up to 25 hours as desired (flexible)
-This is a temporary position for the first 3 months to make sure you are a good fit for the company and then will turn into a permanent, part time position if it is a mutual fit
-You should want to be a part of this company for the long-haul and are a loyal employee
-Position is remote with in-person as needed (quarterly)

Salary
-The training rate for 3 months will be $20 per hour. After 3 months of the hourly training rate, the non-training hourly rate will be $25-30 per hour on a part-time basis.
