Bookkeeper

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and performing various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations, including bank statements, general ledger accounts, and credit card statements
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data and resolve any discrepancies
- Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices

Skills:
- Proficient in 10-key typing for efficient data entry
- Experience in account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation
- Knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite (especially Excel)
- Prior experience in public accounting or governmental accounting is a plus
