Bookkeeper-Hybrid Work Schedule

PBMares is seeking a Bookkeeper to support our Tax team. The Bookkeeper performs a range of accounting and bookkeeping tasks. The Bookkeeper has a good working knowledge of fundamental tax procedures, their applications and the proper understanding and application of working paper organization and documentation. Initially, given less complex accounting and tax assignments, as experience is gained, more difficult assignments and greater responsibilities are assigned.This role will support our Warrenton, VA office.

What you'll do:

• Maintains financial records consisting of data entry, bank reconciliations, journal entries, asset capitalization and disposals.
• Conducts reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Collaborates with clients to assist them as they identify accounting needs, supports them on bookkeeping issues.
• Applies accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepares accurate work papers for tax returns (1040, 1120-S, 1120 and 990).
• Prepares basic individual and entity returns.
• Reviews software files prepared by clients to make ready for tax preparation and makes adjusting journal entries, as needed.
• Completes reports for payroll, personal property and business license filings.
• Completes special projects as assigned.
