Spencer Building Maintenance is an organization that runs on biblical principles and servant leadership. We are looking for a key individual who can contribute to the fulfillment of our Kingdom Purpose by managing and improving our accounting systems as processes. • Effectively communicate and interact with Controller and company CPA firm; insuring timely response to questions regarding tax preparation or outside audits. Accurately complete and coordinate company data for tax preparation and/or response to audit/CPA questions.
• Ensure, with the assistance of the Controller, the accurate and timely processing financial deliverables, including but not limited to: the proper monthly and annual closing of A/R, Inv, P/R, A/P, Job Cost and G/L; reconciliation of bank accounts; daily monitoring of cash and credit; proper filing and depositing of payroll related taxes; 401K management; health insurance compliance and management; manage outside audits; and the like.
• Insure and assist as necessary the A/R specialist in researching and collecting outstanding invoicing and holding a standard whereby invoice aging does not exceed 60 days.
• Insure and assist as necessary the A/P specialist in researching and paying vendors within terms but not later than 30 days. Insure mechanisms exist to achieve optimum savings through cash discounts, bulk purchases and competitive bidding.
• Insure and assist as necessary the P/R specialist in the timely, accurate and lawful payment of all wages for all our employees.
• Insure and assist as necessary the Inventory specialist in the proper accounting of inventory and its integration with A/P, researching purchase orders, keeping inventory items and descriptions accurate, and insuring the proper re-billing of inventory items.
• Insure and assist as necessary all aspects of accounting controls, becoming an expert in the company accounting software and increasing its utilization and performance, with goal of consistent improvement of all company systems and procedures.
• Assist executive committee with the development and implementation of standards, policies, procedures, measures, and organizational enhancements to meet or exceed company goals and objectives. Provide constant recommendations for improvement.
• Train staff on systems, processes, and procedures. Cross train personnel to insure a smooth-running administrative and accounting department.
• Assist with developing and maintaining servant leader roles throughout the administrative and accounting functions.
• Engage in other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to, a bachelor's degree with a primary focus in Accounting (or 10 years of equivalent accounting work experience).
Five (5) years of accounting work experience where management of others was a requirement.
Must be ADVANCED in Excel with a proven ability to integrate data from different systems. Must have a proven mastery of learning and enhancing software performance.
Individual must have a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy. The individual we are looking for must be a consummate professional, with demonstrated interpersonal skills and a servants' heart.
