Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled bookkeeper to handle all financial aspects of our business. As a part-time bookkeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and assisting with payroll. The position has the potential to transition into a full-time role as our business expands.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Monitor and manage the company's budget, expenses, and cash flow.
- Work closely with the management team to provide financial insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with external accountants during audits and tax preparations.
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and the ability to analyze data.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.
- Familiarity with the construction industry and understanding of construction accounting.
