Under moderate supervision and with moderate latitude for independent judgment, help oversee the efficient and accurate operation of HR processes and systems, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee records maintenance and storage
Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried employees, including posting and advertising positions, assisting hiring managers in use of applicant tracking system, and ensuring completion of searches
- Work closely with supervisors and managers of union employees on adherence to contractual provisions and in ensuring compliance of HR practices with collective bargaining agreements
- Assist in advising employees and managers on HR policies and procedures and in providing guidance on resolving performance nuance problems, disciplinary action, and employee relations issues
- Participate with other HR staff in planning, developing, and implementing personnel policies, systems, workflows and procedures. Participate in HR initiatives such as onboarding, training and external data requests
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
- Assists in various requests for information from corporate, government agencies, etc
- Performs data entry and record keeping in PeopleSoft as assigned
- Assist HR Business Partner and staff in special projects when needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field from four-year college or university
- Three (3) years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
- Bilingual - fluent in Spanish, written and verbal
- Must be willing to work flexible hours when needed
- Willingness and ability to drive to and support four (4) area locations
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, including multishift organizations
- Human Resources experience with unionized companies supporting 500 or more employees
- Previous work with Universities and/or Technical Schools to support and develop workforce pipelines
- Human Resources Certifications PHR and/or SHRM-CP
- Bilingual - fluent in spanish, written and verbal
- Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
- Looks for ways to improve and promote operational excellence and partner with Operations leadership
- Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize and quickly adapt to changes
- Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety
- Operates under minimal direction and exercises independent judgment
- Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan
- Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools
- Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent meetings, presentations
- Experience in Talent Acquisition systems (i.e. iCIMS)
- Experience and understanding of HRIS systems (i.e. PeopleSoft)
- Experience with regulatory strategy and reporting, including AAP, I-9, EEO, Pre-Employment process, OFCCP and EEOC requirements
