About the Position
The Associate Sourcing Manager will facilitate and execute Merchants/Designs’ vision from product development through production. They are an expert troubleshooter with strong competencies in raw materials, price/costing, cost engineering, product development / Production. This position strategically supports Merchant’s needs and Brand business requirements with a forward-thinking approach. Strong collaboration with cross functional partners in merchandising, technical design, planning and logistics.
Responsibilities
- Review category product development/sourcing strategies that align with production strategies and category goals.
- Oversee production lifecycle from time of development handover to shipment of product.
- Ensure on time shipment of quality product while exceeding margin goals and maintaining product integrity.
- Possess the ability to see the bigger picture and influence/evolve overall department processes and efficiencies.
- Provide support and guidance to team members and monitor and assist staff with work progress.
- Drive seasonal allocation strategies as created by the Director of Sourcing.
- Communicate with vendors to understand sample execution issues and provide support in resolving them in a timely manner.
- Prepares for milestone meetings and provides information on costing and samples for management to present. Provides input in attaining margin goals while maintaining product aesthetic.
- Review costing with Manager for each costing milestone.
- Input all costing information into Digi for each seasonal costing due date.
- Monitor on-time delivery of samples for milestone meetings and report style level status and specifics to cross functional teams.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned.
Qualifications
- 2-4 Years Product Development / Production experience in Women’s Apparel
- Production and product engineering, global trade regulations, global testing protocol, global product integrity, production cycle timeline, calendar management, fabric performance and garment/product construction
- Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Web-based applications.
- Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
- Detail oriented with strong follow through; Organize and prioritize multiple projects
- Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
- Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills
- Use basic retail math needed to determine costs, margins and turn
- Influence others; Negotiation skills
- Monitor employee performance (where applicable), provide feedback, and develop employees through formal and on-the-job training

Education
- 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree preferred
