Department Information
The Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) is a 300,659 sq. ft. facility located on Ferst Drive on the West side of campus. The complex is a unique expansion of the existing swimming and diving venue built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Campus Recreation provides a premier recreation fitness center, aquatic center, recreation fields, and leadership challenge course for the Georgia Tech community. We offer programming that includes Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness Instruction and Classes, and Outdoor Recreation.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director position supports the director with oversight and leadership in the areas of facility management and operations management. This position has primary oversight and management of recreation facilities. They are also responsible for managing projects within the unit and the day-to-day operations. Responsible for setting employee goals, training, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with other unit management and professional staff, division management, coaches, volunteers, various student groups and alumni and representatives of Risk Management and Legal Services.
This position typically will advise and counsel unit management, internal and external partners
This position will supervise: Assigned Staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Support oversight for all facility management operations
Job Duty 2 -
Oversee risk management practices for facilities and equipment
Job Duty 3 -
Oversee maintenance and replacement programs to make sure all equipment is in good working order
Job Duty 4 -
Work with internal and external clients to deliver quality services
Job Duty 5 -
Formulate and present budget for approval to finance and leadership and upon approval administer operating budget for facilities and operations
Job Duty 6 -
Provide advisory resources to Directors to inform on potential operations changes or make recommendations for new opportunities
Job Duty 7 -
Manage the area's technology needs and research new trends where appropriate
Job Duty 8 -
Ability to manage and cultivate relationships with external partners to provide recurring business annually

Job Duty 9 -
Manage events logistics and game day activities which may include evenings and weekends
Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Four or more years of job-related experience

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) / First Aide (FA) Instructor, Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Preferred
