University of Hawai‘i, Kapi‘olani Community College, Culinary Arts Department is seeking applications for the Administrative Support Specialist - Purchaser (Casual Hire) . Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees. Salary: $23.67 per hourSchedule: Up to 40 hours per weekTemporary/Permanent: TemporaryFunding: Special Continuation is dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds. Duties and Responsibilities:

Procuring, distributing, tracking ingredients and supplies to academic programs;Provide inventory documentation and reconciliation to the campus business office;Reconciling orders to meet minimums;Provide product alerts and identify alternatives;Track and minimize damages and spoilage;Create allocation reports for supervisors;Provide general storeroom technical support to faculty. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree;Knowledge and use of inventory management system,Product/ingredient knowledge;Availability to work both day and evening shifts.Desirable Qualifications:Familiarity with the University of Hawaii fiscal policies and procedures.Familiarity of local vendors and product offerings.Use of ADACO inventory management system.
