Asset Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking a self-directed leader to join our fast-paced, high energy team. Asset Manager at BlackStar Capital is a challenging, yet rewarding role with the opportunity to lead in a small, high-performance environment. This candidate will yield the highest level of responsibility in the performance and operational efficiency of our multifamily real estate portfolio. An ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, having the capability of developing best practices, with an unyielding focus on execution. This individual will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Develop Asset Management policies and procedures and implement best practices.
- Prepare operating budgets and work strategically with property management and facilities to implement organizational and property specific changes to improve operational efficiency.
- Work with Property Management to oversee lease-up of new assets and turnover of units in existing portfolios.
- Identify opportunities for refinancing and apply for capital improvements.
- Maintain regular contact and obtain reports from property management and accounting to assess performance.
- Develop apartment rental policies and procedures and ensure compliance with them.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local government funding sources for capital and operating needs of multi-family housing
- Understands current and anticipated federal, state, and local, regulatory requirements for property and financial assets and ensures that assets are compliant with regulatory standards
- Identifies risks to assets (potential failures); identifies consequences of asset failures; and plans for ways to minimize the consequences of failures
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in asset management/property management
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance (related field) is preferred
- Experience with managing a portfolio of real estate assets
- Exceptional detail orientation related to financials and other operational needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Excellent skills in managing multiple tasks while exhibiting a strong attention to organization and detail.
- Ability to manage people and work effectively in a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
