Job Description
General Descripton: The Material Planning Analyst is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules and customer needs
Essential Functions:
- Utilize MRP reports to create purchase orders for inventory and discrete project work. Follow purchase order delegation of authority matrix
- Replenish outside processed materials to support production plans and satisfy customer requirements.
- Expedite and track delivery of material to support extraordinary or emergency demand and restore customer’s capacity to operate.
- Reduce inventory levels by reducing lead times and analyzing demand so as to calculate re-order levels that meet or exceed target inventory turns.
- Undertake and complete assigned RFQ activities so as to benchmark costs and achieve material cost savings.
- Regularly consult with departmental management to review Machine Shop schedules and part production accuracy.
- Assist inventory cycle counter in resolving discrepancies with suppliers.
- Utilize lot size and cost information to make informed make/buy decisions as needed.
- Set-up new parts with accurate supplier information and maintenance same through lifecycle of these same part(s). .
- Training in all company and role/function policies and procedures.
- Completion of annual standard cost roll drill.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, as evidenced by an ability to interact with internal customers, vendors, and suppliers of various interpersonal styles.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Solid basic knowledge of inventory control and storage.
- Ability to calculate simple to complex arithmetic problems with accuracy.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Strong project management skillset; detail oriented.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of best practices in customer service
Required Education and Experience:
- Two year college or university program certificate preferred.
- Two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy AFSI ITAR requirements.
