PAY AND BENEFITS
Annual Pay Range: $56,179.92 - $73,049.43
Hourly Pay Range: $28.810215 - $37.461244
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

Generous paid time off package, including:
- 12 hours of vacation accrued per month

JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Social Services Division is seeking an experienced, administrative professional to join their team as an Administrative Specialist 2. The position will work within the Social Services Division's Administrative Support Team, providing management and administrative support to managers, supervisors, the division director, community board members, and advisory councils.
The primary responsibilities in this Administrative Specialist 2 position include serving as a liaison with Social Services community boards and advisory councils and acting as a primary Human Resources (HR) liaison. As a liaison for boards and advisory councils, the Administrative Specialist 2 will attend meetings and take minutes, assist with recruitment, communication, and support for board members and the division director. As a primary HR liaison, the Administrative Specialist 2 will process HR forms, support managers and supervisors with recruitment functions, and process performance appraisals and other confidential documents.
This is a great opportunity for an administrative professional looking to build upon their problem solving skills while establishing effective relationships with County partners and playing a critical part of a service-oriented team.
Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position
- Experience attending public meetings and providing minutes
- Experience researching and organizing training materials, and facilitating or supporting a work group
- Experience using strong organizational skills for office procedures, practices and equipment
- Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other county employees, state employees, community partners, and contracted providers
- Ability and skill to understand, interpret and apply County and department policies and procedures
- Computer proficiency, specifically in MS Word and Excel

- Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*
- Experience reading, interpreting, and analyzing rules and policies for a human services and/or Social Services program
- Experience providing HR support including work with highly confidential and sensitive personal information is highly preferred
- Experience administratively supporting executives or senior management members

TYPICAL TASKS
Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Advisory board liaison for all Social Services boards and advisory councils. Attend all public meetings, provide timely and accurate minutes and other information, and provide a high level of administrative support to the advisory board members and division director. Manage all recruitments and communication.
- Provide HR liaison and personnel support to the Social Services Division, handling highly confidential and sensitive personnel information. Process Personnel Action (PA) paperwork and other HR action forms, assist managers and supervisors with recruitments, assist with on-boarding, and processing annual appraisals and other employee information. Interpret and analyze laws, rules, policies, and procedures and apply these to specific situations.
- Provide support and backup to Administrative Support Team and other administrative functions. May obtain or help troubleshoot technology as needed, process mail, cover front desk breaks, lunches or shifts, or any other general office task as needed.
- Provide management and administrative support for the following: Scheduling budget and other meetings, assisting with conference training registration and hotel/airfare reservations, assist with completion of reports and other public communication as needed, and special projects requiring complex administrative skills as assigned.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position is included in the County’s alternate workweek program, working 37.5 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday (Fridays off):
- Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
- This position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework subject to the Clackamas County Teleworking Policy and based on the Department’s business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County.
