Job Description:

As a Ship’s Self Defense System (SSDS) Engineer, you will support all aspects of the SSDS MK2 combat system and its peripheral system interfaces installed aboard United States Navy platforms. Support will include defining and developing rigorous test standards for the test and evaluation of United States Navy (USN) shipboard, land-based and enterprise Integrated Combat System (ICS) products, software and equipment in accordance with company and contractual requirements. You will meticulously review, test, validate and verify element level System Requirements Specification (SRS), System Subsystem Specification (SSS) and evaluate test results, test trends and implement corrective action as needed. Other duties will include:
Review, create, develop, maintain, and execute test procedures for the conduct of Land Based Engineering Test (LBET), Combat

System Integration Test (CSIT), Shipboard Developmental Test (SBDT), and Enterprise Test events


Test and evaluate new software releases during product development


Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments


Establish and maintain test processes and requirements documents


Report and document test results and enter problems and issues into the Trouble Observation Report (TOR) database


Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing


Collaborate with product management and technical writers to ensure system and user manuals are in synch with the software to ensure that quality is "built in" from the ground up


Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve problems that cause test failures


Assist junior engineers in the development of test procedures and actual test conduct


Generate reports and review documents generated by junior engineers


Review and study information from suppliers regarding materials and components to be utilized


May work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers


Travel required

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Four years US Navy Combat Systems and Interoperability experience (AEGIS, SSDS, ACDS, TADILs, CEC, Air Control, etc.)
High School diploma or equivalent

Security Clearance:
Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals will be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to, criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.
