Maintenance Mechanic

Crystal Engineering is seeking a motivated, hands-on Maintenance Mechanic with a desire to grow their abilities in all disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment diagnostics and repair. The Maintenance Mechanic must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team and execute work based on priorities.
Maintenance Mechanic Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting
- Vocational training in mechanics, electrical or machining, preferred
- Scheduling and planning
- Driver’s license required
- Fork truck experience
- MIG/Tig Welding (not required)
- Computer skills
- Good communication skills
- Mechanical, industrial electrical maintenance and repair experience
- Pneumatic and hydraulic experience
- Ability to read drawings, prints, and schematics
- Ability to identify and analyze breakdown failure
CEC Specific Training Required
- Lockout Tagout policy
- Forklift safety
- Maintenance schedule and logs
- Fix CMMS
- PLEX
- Purchasing and PO generation
Maintenance Mechanic Job Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure it is operating at targeted performance levels
- Collaborate with production departments to reduce unplanned downtime
- Update and adjust PM intervals based on PM evaluation
- Document maintenance of machines
- Maintenance of facilities
- Purchasing of replacement parts and supplies for preventive maintenance
- Outside contracting of advanced repairs & service
- Work with production planning to schedule planned downtime for maintenance activities
- Perform failure analysis on breakdowns and process failures to prevent future occurrences
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Heavy lifting
- Overtime typical, 5-10 hours per week, workload dependent
- Working with heavy equipment
- Working in loud environment (hearing protection required)
- Eye protection required
- Must be able to work an agreed schedule/flexibility approved by Operations manager
- Minor local travel to buy supplies
