ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES ASSISTANT

The Office of the City Council President is seeking an Administrative Services Assistant to perform various functions such as accounts payable, procurement, supply inventory, event planning, scheduling, and other duties as needed. The ideal candidate will be able to function with little to no supervision, have knowledge of the Baltimore City Council-the legislative body of government, Workday, and possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Office including Teams).
SALARY: $50,837.00 - $81,292.00

- Possess exceptional telephone skills exercising discretion, diplomacy, and sensitivity
- Provides unmatched organizational skills, superior customer service and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Develops and maintains file and record systems requiring a knowledge of complicated, innovative indexing methods.
- Compiles reports, forms and summaries for superior reviewing and investigating a variety of sources to secure complete and accurate information.
- Answers unusual or complicated questions or complaints regarding work procedures or departmental programs, operations or functions.
- Provides information and assistance to constituents, community groups, representatives of private organizations, executing forms or obtaining services in situations requiring unusual tact or approaches which differ from normal work procedures.
- Has a working knowledge of the Baltimore City Council and the three branches of government
- Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of complex office practices and procedures including office protocol and various filing procedures.
- Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately.
- Ability to locate and retrieve information from a variety of sources and to compile information in report form.
- Ability to navigate Workday financials and expenses.
- Ability to provide direction and guidance to others.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Requirements - Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate and two years of office support experience.
Equivalencies - Equivalent combination of education and experience.
