Anticipated Hiring Range: $20.35 - $22.00
The Lake County Forest Preserve District is currently seeking an Administrative Clerk to represent the District by presenting a professional and cordial first impression to the general public, business agents, staff and officials. The selected candidate will greet visitors, receive telephone calls, relay information, perform secretarial and simple accounting assignments, as well as issue District permits, process annual patron usage for programs and utilizing Zyratalk Chatbot to expedite the relaying of District information. This position performs lifting tasks up to 25 pounds. Drives a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting.
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of secretarial/receptionist experience. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate accurately, effectively and cordially with the general public, District staff and elected officials. Good computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet programs. Strong knowledge of office equipment such as multi-line phone and copy/scanner. Ability to organize time efficiently to perform several jobs simultaneously. Ability to perform simple analytical duties. Must have ability to work around general population in public areas and deal with people courteously under stressful situations. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other District staff members on special events and projects. Must possess valid driver's license.
