Next Step Treatment Center is an outpatient behavioral health organization with locations in Baltimore City and Prince George’s County. Next Step provides comprehensive behavioral healthcare to include outpatient clinics, residential homes and shelter housing for those experiencing mental health and substance use disorders.
Next Step is seeking to recruit a Front Desk/Admin Assistant position for its Outpatient Mental Health Clinic located in Baltimore, MD. This position is Full Time and includes excellent benefits. Hours would be Mon-Fri from 7:00am - 4:30pm. This position is an integral part of the clinic as a representative of Next Step for patients and external agencies who contact Next Step. We are looking for a positive, good communicator, who can work well under stressful situations. Strong customer service skills are a must!
Position scope would include answering phones, scheduling clients, checking clients in and acting as a liaison between clients and the clinical team. This position also assists clients with the completion of paperwork, applies/maintains for benefits for clients in need, data entry, filing, sourcing external agencies for resources, reviewing clinical documentation for compliance, auditing files, and auditing billing.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service experience with an ability to assist internal as well as external customer in a fast paced, demanding, and diverse environment.
- Ability to prioritize job tasks, multi-task, manage time effectively, and be flexible with job tasks.
- Demonstrable knowledge of and sensitivity to the cultural characteristics of the clients to be served
- Demonstrable soundness of basic work behaviors related to punctuality, attendance, reliability
- Ability to work independently but seeking guidance when clarification is needed.
- Understanding or CPT codes and medical billing guidelines as applied to various services.
- Familiarity with office equipment, the use of, and ability to assist others.
- Strong computer skills to include familiarity with Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint, and database programs.
Preferences
- Experienced with the mental health, social services, or healthcare field.
- Experience with or understanding of Medicaid and Medicare and private insurance.
- Two years’ experience in an administrative position with an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic or similar setting.
- Associate degree or certificate in the health and human service field.
Able to communicate in a professional manner. Experienced with the mental health, social services, or healthcare field. Salary is based on experience and degree/certificates and negotiable at hire.
