We are seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant/Billing Specialistto join our administrative team. Ideal candidates should be hard working, autonomous, and organized. Candidates should be eager to join a multi-disciplinary team of providers, collaborating to provide an individualized treatment approach that recognizes each child's individual needs and personality.
Responsibilities
- Check health insurance eligibility and benefits for clients.
- Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts with supervision from billing manager.
- Maintain client files on Microsoft office 365 and electronic medical records system.
- Cover front desk receptionist responsibilities as needed
- Answer phone calls and emails as needed.
- Assist administrative staff with various administrative projects as needed.
- Assist in preparing observation schedules for residents, students, and/or interns.
- Ensure administrative office area is tidy and presentable.
- Light cleaning and assisting with other office tasks as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree OR 5 years of experience as an administrative assistant in lieu of of Bachelor's degree
- 1 year of experience as an administrative assistant preferred
- Health care administration experience preferred
- Experience using EMR systems; experience using Central Reach highly preferred.
- Available to work 20-25 hours a week.
Who We Are
Blue Bird Day is an intensive therapy program for children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders. Our therapies are offered in a preschool-like setting, but instead of teachers, our "classes" are run by therapists. Our collaborative team provides occupational, physical, speech, developmental, ABA, and other therapies to help our clients reach their unique goals. We have locations in Chicago's West Loop and Northcenter neighborhoods and in Wheaton, and we're growing!
