JDC has an outstanding opportunity for an administrative professional interested in learning about the inner workings of nonprofit boards and management. The Administrative Assistant on the Board Relations team will further the work of the department through information management, assistance on our quarterly conference-style Board of Directors meetings, and general office assistance. This role will also provide administrative assistance for all aspects of the JDC Board to ensure its smooth functioning.

What will you do as an Administrative Assistant?
Data and Information Management - 50%
- Act as the point person for and maintain all resources and information related to the JDC Board (e.g. contact info, bios, Board lists, committee memberships, etc.) across multiple data platforms, and update this data on a regular basis
- Optimize data-tracking systems for clarity and effectiveness
- Manage Board Member administrative onboarding/offboarding each year
Board Meetings - 35%
- Project manage the minutes process, including taking official meeting minutes and managing minutes collection, staff review, and approvals
- Ensure meeting attendance gets recorded in JDC database
- Compile, distribute (in-person, digitally, and via shipping), and maintain Board Meeting materials/documents
- Conduct Zoom facilitation and logistics for virtual meetings
- Assist Board Operations Manager as needed, including setting up meeting registration surveys, reviewing communications for Board meetings, communicating staffing needs, etc.
General Administration - 15%
- Heavy calendaring for both the department and Board meetings
- Manage the general JDC Board email inbox and forward Board inquiries to the appropriate recipient
- Manage in-office needs on behalf of department, such as coordinating mailings, greeting guests, etc.
- Submit payment requests for general department expenses
- Assist with the Board committee membership review process annually
- Provide BoardEffect login and basic tech assistance for Board and staff and onboard new staff on Board Relations systems
- Maintain compliance of JDC's Board with legal requirements
Other
- Familiarize yourself with JDC's global mission and work
- Have a working knowledge of JDC's governance and bylaws
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time
What qualifications are required to be our Administrative Assistant?
- Prior experience in a role with a significant administrative, operational, travel, or event planning/facilitation component
- Prior data management experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Ability to read words and numbers, operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment, and communicate in person or over the telephone
- Board or non-profit governance experience a plus
- Ability to bend, reach, and lift up to 20 lbs. of Board Meeting materials occasionally for setup at Board Meetings a plus
- Passion for humanitarian work and/or global Jewish service strongly preferred

What are the compensation and benefits for an Administrative Assistant?
This a full-time position paid semi-monthly at a salary of $55,000-$61,000 per year; in determining where a candidate falls in that range JDC considers several factors, including skills and experience, internal equity, and cost of living in location of work. This role is non-exempt per the FLSA.
