SUMMARY
HomeFront, Inc. is a local, community-based nonprofit, with offices in Stamford, CT. We are currently seeking a highly mission-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant in a part-time capacity.
HomeFront operates a volunteer-driven home repair program that provides FREE repairs to low-income homeowners, enabling them to remain in their homes with an improved quality of life. Currently the program serves Fairfield, Hartford, Litchfield and New Haven Counties in Connecticut, and Westchester County, New York.
Since its founding in 1988, HomeFront has organized thousands of volunteer teams to complete nearly 3,200 projects, impacting over 150 communities in four CT and two NY Counties and has delivered more than $50 million in donated products and services.
HomeFront is run by a small and very dedicated team of paid staff who manage the administrative and client application functions, volunteer management activities, and fundraising that support the program operations.

Position Details: 25-hour hybrid work week; office located in Stamford, CT. This position reports to the Executive Director, HomeFront, Inc. In the first three months, training for the position will involve more in-office time.
Experience Required: Candidate should possess administrative experience in an office setting. Ability to interface with volunteers and neighbors in need in a compassionate and professional way is imperative. This position is well suited to highly organized individuals who wish to make a difference for neighbors in need. College degree is preferred though not mandatory
Skills Required:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is a prerequisite.
· Experience with Microsoft Access is helpful.

Job Responsibilities:
1) Maintain positive working relationships with HomeFront program staff, volunteers and homeowner applicants
2) Manage day-to-day office operations, functioning as the frontline for triaging telephone calls and emails.
3) Responsible for informational needs concerning neighbors applying for assistance, participating volunteers, and other key contacts through data entry in Access, phone work and filing.
4) Ensures accurate and timely information and communication among homeowner applicants, volunteer leaders and colleagues.
5) Organizes mailings and edits a variety of documents.
6) Gathers information on resources that can help neighbors in need
7) Processes donations and bills.
8) Coordinates home evaluation process.
9) Conducts occasional home evaluation visits to assist with overflow areas.
10) Assists with mechanisms to generate requests for help.
11) Plans meetings for key volunteer leaders.
12) Maintains the program’s stock of office supplies and literature.
13) Facilitates insurance requirements.
14) Makes arrangements for professional services to benefit homeowners.
