To serve as Administrative Assistant for the Adult & Continuing Education Director in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the Medina County Career Center and its adopted policies. Oversee and manage general office procedures, personnel, and practices, and will work closely with the Director to establish and implement goals for all facets of the Adult Education program.
STARTING DATE: May 1, 2024
SALARY: Appropriate placement per Classified Employees Salary Schedule, which will be commensurate with experience.
REPORTS TO: Adult Education Director or Designee
BENEFITS: Up to three approved personal days per year; sick leave; group hospital and medical-surgical insurance, major medical insurance, group life insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, prescription insurance, and severance pay.
WORK-WEEK/YEAR: 40 hours a week ~ 260 days a year (12-months)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma. Five years of successful experience coordinating general office procedures. Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite products, frequently using Word, Excel, and Outlook. Capability to prepare correspondence, financial reports, and federal and state reporting. Maintain personnel records, including tracking of contract hours, timesheets, and files. Proven ability to use multiple software programs, including student management systems. Recruitment activities, from enrollment through the graduation ceremonies. A motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong customer service skills to build rapport with students and communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to problem-solve. Professional tact, diplomacy, and presentation with staff and stakeholders. Record of excellent attendance. Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with administrators, staff, students, parents, associates, vendors, and community members.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: General knowledge of the functions and activities of the public school system. Experience working with high school students and/or adult students.
