The Staff Services Analyst (SSA) serves as the personal and confidential Assistant to the Deputy Director and Assistant Deputy Directors of Health Care Delivery Systems (HCDS). This position has considerable responsibility and independence in performing analytical work and administrative duties on behalf of the Directors of HCDS.
The SSA develops and demonstrates a working knowledge of the complex, continuously emerging health care policy areas the Directors of HCDS are working on and identifies and acquires information of value to the Directors of HCDS and senior staff. Such information may be in the form of journal articles, reports, web-based information, white papers, and informational interviews. The SSA must have knowledge of current organizational methods, and procedures with particular reference to the work done in the Deputy Director's Office, and reporting divisions: Integrated Systems of Care, Managed Care Operations, and Managed Care Quality and Monitoring.
Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are considered limited term, 12 month s, and may be extended up to 24 months or become permanent.

Working Conditions
DHCS has embraced a hybrid work environment. Telework is based on operational needs for employees who can perform their essential functions remotely and/or whose duties are conducive to teleworking per DHCS' Telework Policy and in accordance with Government Code Sections 14200 - 14203 for employees residing in California.
We are located in the downtown Sacramento area near the east end of the Capitol. We have easy access to various modes of public transportation, eateries, theaters, and parks, as well as other governmental facilities.
