Temporary Administrative Assistant
Essential Job Duties:
- Ability to screen visitors and telephone calls, referring if necessary to the appropriate department.
- Excellent calendar management skills using Outlook and strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Types 60-75 wpm.
- Effectively schedule meetings and coordinate multi-part meetings, webinars, conference calls etc.
- Coordinates incoming and outgoing written and verbal communication and determines level of priority.
- Coordinates and completes numerous ongoing and special projects simultaneously.
- Provides support to Director/Manager of Risk Management by performing a wide variety of in-depth, complex and confidential administrative duties.
- Ability to work independently under general instructions on a wide variety of special projects, completing assignments within strict deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensures relevant record keeping and retrieval systems of the department in accordance to regulatory standards and hospital policy.
- Identifies and takes a pro-active approach to tasks assigned. Takes the initiative to recommend alternative approaches to tasks that will generate a better outcome/product.
- Must be a flexible, detail-oriented, thorough, self-starter with the ability to multi-task, anticipate, and prioritize well.
- Ability to compose, and distributes letters, reports, and minutes.
- Ability to problem solve independently.
- Brings forward recommendations for improvements and innovation. Promotes creativity in the workplace.

- Ensures records, Patient Safety Council minutes, Compliance Committee minutes, and legal documents are maintained and retrievable as requested.
- Maintains confidentiality of internal communications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant. Prefer experience in a health care environment.
- High school education required; some college education in Business/ Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Computer literate
- Ability to type 60-75 wpm
- Ability to operate a variety of business machines and equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise discernment and good judgment; ability to maintain confidentiality and recognize sensitive situations
