Job Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED, some college level preparation or advanced training preferred
- Experience in responsible and varied secretarial work
- Must possess organizational skills, have knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and ability to work effectively with staff
- Must be a self starter and work independently
Employment: 12 months, Full-Time, Week Days, No Weekends or Holidays
Compensation: $17.19-$18.79 starting per hour depending on experience.
$18.70-$20.60 starting per hour if bilingual in English/Spanish, depending on experience.

- High School Diploma

- First Aid/CPR certificate desired
- Considerable experience in responsible and varied clerical and secretarial work, preferably for an administrator
- Work twelve (12) months a year
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Considerable knowledge in Business English, spelling, and math
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Considerable skill in operation of standard office equipment, especially with computers and software, and excellent keyboarding skills
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, staff, parents, and patrons of the District
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, equipment and filing systems
- Ability to learn and apply the policies, procedures, and services of the function to which assigned
- Ability to keep moderately complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from the records and data compiled
- Ability to compose clear and concise correspondence and reports, often on an independent basis
- High ability to work independently on responsible and confidential administrative assignments and secretarial tasks
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of each employee's position includes (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the identified work activities; and (3) the ability to perform the physical requirements of their specific job description.
Basic:
- Work involves performance of varied clerical and secretarial duties which involve a high degree of independent judgement. Work also involves performance of complex office duties and some delegated administrative details. The job entails exercising discretion in performing office duties keeping informed of unit or District policies, rules, and regulations. Work assignments are typified by considerable range and complexity of assigned duties and the initiative and independence expected. Work assignments are received in general form and are performed with independence. Operation of an alphanumeric keyboard is an integral part of the essential functions of this job.
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to perform and fulfill assigned duties as designed by the administrator
- Types letters, memoranda reports, purchase orders, minutes of meetings, working rough drafts, recorded dictation, verbal instructions, or established procedures.
- Maintain filing systems and financial records and reports; compiles information and statistics for use in reports and budget preparation; orders, maintains and distributes supplies and materials; maintains ledger making entries and distribution costs to accounts
- Receives and screens telephone calls and visitors; assists the administrator/director in the performance of his/her duties; answers questions or refers to appropriate parties; arranges and schedules meetings as requested; assists with other district level operations
- Operates photocopying machines to duplicate reports and other documents; prepares materials for distribution
- Assembles records and reports; receives and places telephone calls regarding inquiries; enters information into computer files and prepares reports
- Prepares agendas for meetings and prepares and distributes meeting notices
- Acts as a custodian of office documents pertaining to the area assigned
- Schedules appointments and performs other administrative and clerical duties
- Performs related work as required.
