Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to join our Psychiatric Services team. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our behavioral health medical office. Your primary responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, maintaining medical records, and providing excellent customer service to patients.
Duties:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the office calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Assist with billing and coding tasks as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional manner
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as necessary
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical or office setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficient in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with electronic health record systems (Eaglesoft, Epic) is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work
