ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
POSITION:Administrative Assistant - Special Education, Class I
District Administration Office (8:00 am - 4:00 pm)
REPORTS TO: Pupil Services Director
JOB FUNCTION:
To serve as secretary to the Pupil Services Director and implement the details and duties designed to carry out the goals, objectives, and programs of the building to which assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possess a High School Diploma
- Demonstrate pruriency in the use of Microsoft Products and other office equipment or software Proficiency on the District administered test.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to promote a positive and professional image of the school and school district.
2. Thorough working knowledge in the operation of computers, printers, and other office equipment.
3. Ability to learn and effectively use the District's student information software, IEP software, and any other software package to be used in this position.
4. Ability to exercise independent judgement following established procedures.
5. Thorough knowledge of spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.
6. Ability to effectively use the features of the telephone system and voice mail.
7. Ability to effectively establish and maintain a filing system.
8. Fundamental knowledge of basic bookkeeping, accounting procedures and methods.
9. Prepare, reproduce, and make appropriate distribution of all correspondence including memoranda, reports, letters, recommendations, notices, orders, teacher observations, requests,
schedules, agenda, school calendar, programs, etc.
10. Ability to maintain complex clerical records, prepare and complete accurate reports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and coordinate the efficient operation of the office.
2. Organize the flow of correspondence and other pertinent data; establish and maintain a filing system that provides for the efficient operation of the office and confidentiality.
3. Maintain such student records as directed.
4. Process material requisitions for purchase orders and maintain supplies and inventories.
5. Maintain files for Act 16 reporting including excel spreadsheet
6. Maintain files for Access reimbursement and claims
7. Assist in completion of SHARRS report.
8. Assist with IDEA reporting
9. Assist with English Language Learner compliance
10. Assist with Special Education compliance reporting and related issues
11. Perform other duties as normally attributed to the position as directed by the Pupil Services Director.

14. Collaborate with Administrative Assistant, Special Education, Class IV
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year; Hourly wage per contract.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Director of Pupil Services, in accordance with the provision of the School district's evaluation system of support service personnel.
